Nancy V. Schumann MA has been a Speech LanguagePathologist for more than 25 years. Having worked in public and private school settings, she established Speech Partners, Inc., a private practice to provide Auditory Verbal services to children with hearing loss. Nancy is an Adjunct Professor at The College of New Jersey and consults with the Pediatric Cochlear Implant Team and Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital. She is a mentor to professionals seeking certification for the Listening and Spoken Language Specialist designation and presents on topics related to hearing loss, listening and spoken language outcomes and auditory verbal practice. Nancy is presently the Coordinator of the Parent/Infant Program, “Sound Beginnings” at Summit Speech School in New Providence, NJ. The “Sound Beginnings” Program serves families of children ages birth to three with hearing loss. The home-based services provided by skilled Teachers of the Deaf, the centerbased Toddler Groups and Parent Training Support Groups are supervised by Nancy and create a foundation of therapeutic, educational, social and emotional support for more than 90 New Jersey families annually.
